August 20-21, 2016.
We will be operating from the radio room of the Oswego Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse. The lighthouse was automated in 1967, ending the era of light keepers (and radio operators) at this lighthouse. This will be the first time in over 40 years that someone will be operating from the lighthouse radio room. This is a unique opportunity as the lighthouse is closed to the public except for special tours. For the ILLW event the H. Lee White Maritime Museum is allowing us to operate from the lighthouse and will be bringing members of the public on tours via boat while we are operating.
Help us in preserving this landmark, literally.
