Station Grounding and Lightning Protection

Hams love antennas.  From an efficiency standpoint they are THE most critical part of our stations.  Sadly, lightning loves antennas, too, making proper grounding and lightning protection essential.  With many newer amateur members in our midst it's appropriate that we revisit a topic presented in April of 2010.  Join us for a program on Grounding and Lightning Protection for the Amateur Radio station.

Not to be left behind, Fulton ARC will have it’s first “Ham Radio Trivia” quiz at its next meeting on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 pm. Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the winner(s). Join us!

Homebrewing Vacuum Tubes

Before the transistor ushered in the era of "solid state", there was "hollow state".  Vacuum tubes have been with us for over 100 years and are still used for high-powered  radio frequency amplifiers from VLF to microwaves, in medical imaging, and in niche applications for music production and playback. Many hams still build homebrew projects utilizing vacuum tubes.  Imagine, however, the challange of homebrewing your own TUBES from scratch!  Join us for a video presentation of a ham doing just that.
