Field Day 2018 - June 23-24

Submitted by ai2n on

The Fulton ARC, in conjunction with Oswego County RACES, will participate in the ARRL Field Day event, held this year on the weekend of June 23-24.

We will once again operate from historic Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY, for which privilege we are grateful.  We will be a one transmitter club entry (class 1A, callsign W2CXV) and will endeavor to be in continuous operation from 2 pm (local) on Saturday to 2 pm on Sunday. It will be a completely portable operation, using portable generators and no preexisting radio infrastructure. We plan to operate using SSB, CW and Digital modes.

In addition to RACES, we will also enjoy support from BSA Troop 715 from Hannibal.

The event will also serve as an Open House. Non-ham visitors are welcome and encouraged.

Station/antenna setup will commence at 9 am (local) on Saturday, June 23.  The station will be decommissioned starting at 2 pm on Sunday.  Many hands make light work.

Hams with little or no High Frequency (HF) experience or minimal HF privileges are encouraged to try HF operation with supervision from an experienced control operator. Unlicensed visitors may also operate with such supervision.
