November 20, 2024

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Vice President Ken Ellsworth (N2GFG) at 7:03 PM.

Approval of Previous Minutes

• The minutes from the October meeting were read by the Secretary.

Treasurer's Report

• Total balance: $875.31

Committee Reports

1. RACES (Mike):
   
   • Reminder to ensure the building door is not propped open.
   • Inventory list has been verified and submitted to the county for review.
   • January RACES on-air meetings will resume.
   • County has limited the group to one gate key fob, complicating trailer access.
2. Education (Redd):
   
   • Dan Walsh, who recently earned his Technician license, is studying for the General class license. Assistance will be available for testing.
3. Public Service:
   
   • Reindeer Run on December 7th – Redd will solicit volunteers.
4. Field Day:
   
   • Planning for next year should begin.
   • Vice President Ken suggested identifying a chairman and location.
   • Mike will contact Fort Ontario to confirm the date.

Old Business

• Antenna Trailer: Plans to work on it postponed until spring.
• Dave Webb’s Equipment: Cataloging is pending and expected to begin in January.
• Fox Hunt: May not proceed due to lack of interest.
• Weekly Brunch: Wednesday 10 AM brunch at Mimi’s has been well-attended, with 4-6 members participating regularly.
• Picnic: Chairperson needed. Julia Hopman will transfer paperwork to Judy.
• Christmas Dinner:
  
  • Scheduled for December 14th, with 17 attendees signed up so far.
  • Judy requested additional RSVPs and is confirming a presenter, with a backup in place.
  • Dave Webb’s wife and Paul Hopman’s wife will be invited at the club's expense.

New Business

• Ben will present updates on the FARC website and Facebook page at January Meeting.
• Dick Hopman delivered equipment and a list of items from Paul for potential sale.
• Discussion on renewing the club call sign:
  
  • Dolph, the trustee of the club call, needs to renew the call sign by December 4, 2025. Redd will follow up.
  • The RACES call sign (W2OSC) expired in July 2024, and Mike will handle renewal.
• Bob is accepting 2025 dues; patches and window stickers are available.
• Class Timing:
  
  • Suggestion to hold Technician classes in the fall for better publicity and General classes in the spring.

Next Meeting

• The next business meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2025.
• No December business meeting; the Christmas party will replace it on December 14th.
